More than 150 motorcyclists and passengers enjoyed a great day of riding and festivities as they raised funds to help keep the Frisco Family Services Food Pantry stocked at Frisco Family Services’ 2nd Annual Riding 4 Meals Motorcycle Run on Sept. 20.
Presented by Pat Lobb’s Toyota of McKinney, the ride started and ended in the Frisco Resale parking lot and included four other stops along 120+ miles of beautiful North Texas roads. At the end of the event, participants enjoyed food and drinks from Quaker Steak & Lube, Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers, iCream Café, Jet’s Pizza, Subway, Whataburger, Starbucks, Frito-Lay and Kroger while enjoying the sounds of the Iron Fist of Duncan. Riders competed in bike games including the “Slowest Rider” and “Ball and Cone”, which required a rider and passenger to ride past cones with tennis balls on top, pick them up, turn around and place the ball back on top of the cone. The Motorcycle Rodeo (riders competing in a precision skills course) entertained participants and spectators, and the event was capped off with a drawing of 25 plus prizes including the grand prize of two round-trip tickets from Southwest Airlines.
“We are so thankful to everyone who came out in support of our 2nd Annual Riding 4 Meals Motorcycle Run,” Lon Ricker, development director, said. “Who says bikers don’t have hearts? Because of every single rider, passenger, sponsor, donor and volunteer, there is more food on the shelves of the only food pantry in Frisco helping Frisco Family Services meet the needs of our neighbors in crisis.”
In addition to the Title Sponsor, Pat Lobb’s Toyota of McKinney, other major sponsors included POParella’s Gourmet Popcorn and Treats, Prosper Bank, Tieperman Health & Wellness, Hope Fellowship, iCream Café, Massage Envy Spa, Farmer’s Insurance Marilyn Kuhlman Insurance Agency, Frisco STYLE Magazine and Southwest Airlines.
